|I would like to wish a very happy Eid-ul-adha to our Muslim readers :) We hope you have a great time and that your holy sacrifices are rewarded :)|
However, that's not the actual intent of this post.
In my observation, prominent days of the year are a good time to make some resolutions for the following year. Resolutions may not seem important to some of you, but let's face the facts: The chances of someone doing any positive thing is much higher in someone who has made a formal resolution.
So here's the idea. Find it in your heart to come up with a resolution - a good one, which must involve a plan for improvement of at least these 4 elements: your self, your acquaintances, your country and your Muslim ummah!
- Find out the good that you lack, ponder over it, ask others' opinions; find out what you need to drop, and leave it behind forever.
- With some luck and willpower, if you manage to do that, it's time to help out your family, friends and other people in your life, Not everyone can work this out on their own, and you MUST HELP THESE PEOPLE. It is a duty you must acknowledge and own.
- Finally, our countries and our ummah, need a lot of awareness on trivial issues - foremost among them being the importance to get rid of racial, cultural, geographical and sect-based discriminations; to unite as one as we are supposed to do.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER IS....
Ideas like "It won't do any good" or "Nobody will listen to me" are a serious hindrance and you must not let them distract you from your mission. You MUST do all you can, at whatever scale you can.
A man must start alone, but with some determination and hard work, there will soon be more people by his side, people who share the same mission and would love to help him out. Alot of the people out there want to help their nation and ummah, but simply lack the initiative and leadership skills to spread a positive message. They await a leader who can guide them. Who knows that leader might be you?
Ponder over it....
