This post expresses a few scattered thoughts about the issue of secret memo allegedly sent to former US military chief Admiral Mike Mullen to seek his support for sacking several senior Pakistani military officials to avert a possible coup.
The rumours about this memo have been on air for quite a sometime now. This issue has not only shook the political pillar in Pakistan but also resulted in the resignation of Hussain Haqqani, the ambassador of Pakistan to America.
Although the memo itself appears to be a disgrace to the nation, the after-effects could be even worse. It is not the first time Pakistanis have been found involved in actions against their nation’s interest, respect and grace. Have we no national spirit or love for our nation? Are we such a shameless nation? This truly hurts. An example placing a similar stain on our name is explained below.
A few years ago, Aimal Kansi (declared as a terrorist on the account of killing of 2 American citizens in WTC) was allegedly handed over to US after the president of Pakistan (at that time, Farooq Laghari) received a handsome amount of money from the US officials. During his trial, unconfirmed sources say that when the judge was told about the money given for Kansi's arrest, he blushed with anger and said, “Pakistanis could trade their mothers for 20 dollars, why did you spend that much amount?” This is undoubtedly a slap on the face of our nation.
In contrast, when Raymond Davis was arrested on the account of killing 2 Pakistanis, our radically different response shattered the nation’s prestige and respect. We should have hanged him the same way US sentenced Aimal Kansi to death; instead one of the families received blood money and the other got nothing, as Davis ultimately got freedom.
Now this memo thing is another scar on our faces revealing the true identity within us. If details of the memo are true, what we are doing is no different from the last Muslim rulers of Spain, who wrote secret letters to King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella requesting to hand them over a small property of their own in exchange of the Moorish state.
Government is denying any sort of link to the memo. I seriously wish that it is true; otherwise it would be permanent stain on our nation.

I reckon that again this all is done by a planted network. America wants a new face at Haqqani's place now! or may be America has more fatal plans to attack on ISI and create hatred between army and civil sector!
